A poem written by one of my classes on the subject of Thanksgiving:
This is a good party!
Holiday; we are happy.
All people are thankful.
No violence this day.
Ketchup and mayonnaise on the turkey,
Sweet!
Great party.
Indians give meat, we have peace.
Victory of peace and fraternity!
Now we say,
Goodbye!
I think that it’s pretty good and pretty right on. My students are great here and they love America!

i think the message of thanksgiving (and relations between the federal gov and native americans) is pretty much summed up in "indians give meat, we have peace."
